What Happened In 1959?

In a proud statement from their company headquarters, Huntington Heating & Cooling, Inc announced that 2013 is the 53rd Anniversary of the founding of their business. Huntington Heating & Cooling is proud of their success and thanks employees, clients, suppliers and friend for their support.

The company was started back in 1959 when Ike was still President and his Vice President was a young, Richard Nixon. Things were good back then, maybe because steak wasl only $1.07 per pound! My Happiness was one of the hit songs that year along with Put Your Head On My Shoulders, Mack the Knife, Everything's Coming Up Roses, and The Sound of Music.

What Else Happened In 1959?

Fidel Castro became Premier of Cuba. The Russians shocked us all when they launched a satellite with 2 monkeys aboard. For travel experience geared more for the average consumer, the St. Lawrence Seaway opened to link the Great Lakes to the Atlantic Ocean. American Airlines joined in too, as it began the first coast-to-coast service from New York to Los Angeles on the Boeing 707.

Hawaii became the 50th state, Dutchess Sarah (Fergie) Ferguson was born, Huntington Heating and Cooling started its first year in business.

The Green Bay Packers beat the New York Giants for the NFL Championship. Los Angeles defeated Chicago 4-2 for the World Series. Iowa won the Rose Bowl 38-12 over California and the Boston Celtics won the NBA Championship

In the entertainment world, Charlton Heston won teh Oscar for Best Actor for his role in the Best Picture, Ben Hur. Best Actress was won by Simone Signoret for her performance in Room At The Top.

On TV, we were all watching Bonanz, The Twilight Zone, and The Jack Benny Show.

Yes, you think about it, things have changed a lot in 53 years. But after all this time there are things which have remained the same.

One good thing is that Huntington Heating & Cooling is still around and thriving after 53 years of hard work and lost of dedication by everyone involved ....and most importantly, caring about customers who helped us reach this milestone.
